June, 2006 - Specialty Heat Treating, Inc. placed order with Surface Combustion, Inc. for a Multi-Chamber Vacuum Carburizing System featuring Surface´s patented VringCARB® technology. This new technology will assist Specialty Heat Treating, Inc. as we expand and enhance our ability to process precision components, serving several industries, including but not limited to Automotive, Gear and Aerospace industries.

February, 2006-Specialty was awarded, " West Michigan´s 101 Best and Brightest Companies to Work For" by the Michigan Business and Professional Org., for the 4th consecutive year.

April, 2005 - Heat Treat Journeyman certificates have been awarded to Charlie Sharp and Ed Dayton, Specialty Heat Treating, Elkhart, from the U.S. Department of Labor. The duo completed the apprenticeship program focused on commitment to excellence and service in heat treating.

February, 2005 - For the third year and since the awards inception Specialty Heat Treating has been awarded the "101 Best & Brightest Companies to Work For", by the Michigan Business and Professional Organization.

January, 2005 - Wyoming/Kentwood Area Chamber of Commerce "Manufacturer of the Year". Specialty Heat Treating, Inc. Grand Rapids, Michigan, was awarded this prestigious award at the annual "Wyoming Kentwood Chamber dinner in January 2005. Attending the dinner and accepting the award were several team members.
