For over 30 years, Specialty Heat Treating has provided HIGH QUALITY - ON TIME heat-treating services to a growing customer base. As an industry leader in the application of new technology, computerized process monitoring, process controls and shop order systems, our growth is a direct result of a proven commitment to quality and excellent customer service.
With our registration to ISO/TS 16949:2002 Quality Management System in the fall of 2003, we continue our "First in the Industry" approach to innovative systems and controls.
Serving a diverse customer base, we have set challenging goals for the future. NADCAP registration is under consideration to better serve the Aerospace and Defense Contractor industries. We are working hard to grow and improve our systems through the continued development of Environmental and Safety Systems as well as improvements to our training program.
Our commitment to our systems is a key factor in our ability to satisfy the customer with reliable heat-treating services.

In-House Metallurgical Laboratories

Each of our production facilities operates on-site metallurgical laboratories. Qualified metallurgists, lab technicians and inspection personnel follow documented procedures to ensure compliance with applicable standards and customer requirements. Calibrated inspection, measuring and test equipment is used in combination with statistical techniques to confirm process viability and to certify achievement of customer specifications such as hardness, case depth and microstructure.
Quality Policy
It is the policy of every employee at Specialty Heat Treating to meet or exceed customer expectations for High Quality-On Time heat-treating services. Quality Objectives are established and monitored through the Quality Operating System (QOS).
If these objectives are not met, we will communicate with the customer and initiate required corrective actions.

Specialty Heat Treating’s quality system is strengthened through internal, external and technical audits. These audits are essential to the continual improvement of our quality system. APQP
Our Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) efforts are based on AIAG requirements. New production programs are quoted following feasibility reviews by cross-functional teams. As specified by our customers, documented PPAP submissions are prepared for their approval. When combined with our industry leading technology, process control systems and proprietary shop order software, our Quality Planning efforts ensure precise and repeatable results reflecting our highest commitment to customer satisfaction.
